Is there a need for another blog on wine?
Fair and reasonable question.
No, I believe there is no need for it.
But there is not either the need to open a bottle of wine and pour our glass up.
There is not a need. There is the wish.
We do it because we want it, and we want it because we like it.
It is a pleasure that drives us in doing such things.
The pleasure in talking and writing on something we like.
And I do like wine. And I do like traveling. And I do like traveling discovering the wine.
The wine as an aspect of a particular territory (not necessary a terroir), but also the wine as a part of a special moment, in a special place, in a special situation.
Sometimes the wine would be under the lightspot, sometimes it would simply stand by to another major actor on the stage.
Writing is also sharing experiences, and wine might be an experience.
Its aroma and its flavors, of course, but also the world that stays around it, its history, its tradition, and all the people that made it being what it is.
I don’t know if you would like what I will write, the style and the content of my words.
I apology if you don’t.
But I hope that, in the time your eyes spent walking on my words, you had lived an experience, maybe the same I did, maybe a different one, but … one.
Because this is why we travel, this is why we drink wine, this is why we write, and this is why we read.
We do all these things to live experiences.
